Hampton Inn next month is scheduled to open its first hotel in Manhattan, a 144-room midprice property on West 24th Street. A month later, Four Points by Sheraton, another midprice brand, is scheduled to unveil a 158-room property one block north in the same Chelsea neighborhood. It, too, is the brand's first outpost in Manhattan.

Less than 10 blocks further uptown, meanwhile, a third midprice brand with national aspirations, La Quinta Inns, next month will make its New York debut: A locally owned and managed hotel company, Apple Core Hotels, officially is converting a property in its portfolio on West 32nd Street near Herald Square to a 182-room La Quinta Inn.
