I recently spoke at a seafood chain's general managers' conference, and one of the managers came up to me after my seminar and asked what I thought was kind of an odd question. He said his mentor at his company encouraged him to ask successful people this question: "What are the secrets to getting rich in this 'business?" I admired 'his candor and chutzpah but was wary of the context, so naturally I. replied: (1) Make more money than you spend, and (2) Never reveal all you know.
