In this highly interactive course, you'll gain valuable experience with Illustrator’s drawing tools and image editing features. You'll practice drawing and tracing with the Pen tool, and you'll learn how to fine-tune the contours of any line. You'll also discover how to work with color, use shortcuts for applying color to images, and add special effects to your drawings.

| Instructor Biography: |
| Toni Toomey was a classroom teacher and education consultant for a number of years until serendipity took her, mid-career, into journalism and publishing. She has written for the New York Times, and has been a stringer for The Independent (London). With a life-long penchant for art and design, her expertise in digital art and visual communication came into its own when she joined the editorial staff at Threads magazine, a Taunton Press publication known for its stunning art, photography, and layout. Toomey added Adobe Illustrator to her arsenal of software skills when creating the graphics for a 500-page teacher resource guide. Since then, she has produced technical illustrations primarily for textbooks and quilting books. Currently, she divides her time evenly between writing, editing, and illustrating. |
